ICSI at Virtus Fertility Centre

Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection, otherwise known as ICSI, is a specialised technique that can be part of your IVF treatment.

ICSI is commonly used to overcome male related fertility issues, such as low sperm count or poor sperm motility.

ICSI at Virtus Fertility Centre is managed by experienced fertility specialists supported by a highly trained team of scientists and nurses.

What is ICSI?

ICSI involves a scientist selecting a single sperm and injecting it into the egg to cause fertilisation. With standard IVF, the sperm and the egg would be left to fertilise in the laboratory without direct intervention from a scientist.

Your ICSI treatment at Virtus Fertility Centre is managed by experienced fertility specialists supported by highly trained embryologists.

What are the success rates of ICSI?

IVF with ICSI is one of the most common techniques used in fertility treatment.

ICSI is most successful for couples where fertility issues are related to the male partner. Where there is a low sperm count, or sperm motility or morphology issues, the sperm simply cannot reach or fertilise the egg without intervention. ICSI solves this issue by directly implanting the sperm into the egg, and then transferring the embryo back into the uterus. Many thousands of babies have been born worldwide since ICSI was introduced.

We work with Virtus Fertility Centre to offer ICSI with proven success.
